Thank you all for your kind words and thoughts toward my cousin. She's better, and only has a closed fracture, so she won't be needing surgery, but she is getting every test known to mankind to figure out what happened.
Thank the Gods for universal health care<3
Anyway, the real post today:The element of water, my favorite element
This was written for me about a billion years ago by Lisey.
The Physical: Water, in its physical form, is used in many rituals – if not most – by Witches. It represents the “Blood of Life,” for it travels around earth in veins and gathers in large pools as blood would in the aortas. It is often Blessed and becomes Holy Water, which is used as protection, purification, “baptism”, and exorcisms. (In exorcisms the Holy Water is often infused with certain herbs and essential oils that have characteristics which may aid in the expulsion of the demon.) Water is also used in rituals as a base to creating another form of Holy Water, salt water. This form of Holy Water is created simply by mixing sea salt (or other pure salt) with charged or previously Blessed water. This form of Holy Water is the most common used in rituals.
Water in its physical form is also used as the base for elixirs, though many people use a pure alcohol such as vodka (vodka has a longer shelf-life).
The Metaphysical:
Gender: Feminine
Direction: West
Elemental: The Undine. Undines are sensitive creatures who are said to be extremely beautiful and have similarly beautiful voices and love singing. Undines are said to only be women, though when concerning the ultimate balance of life, there surely must be a male form or a male creatures of equivalence.
Colour: Though traditionally it is said to be green, most Witches today use blue (or any colour you associate Water with).
Ritual Tool: The chalice, which holds the Charged Water (meant for drinking) or the Blood of the Mother (wine, or pomegranate juice) like a womb. Also the cauldron (another womb figure).
Zodiac signs: Cancer, Pisces, and Scorpio
Archangel: Gabriel
Time: Dusk
Season: Autumn
Senses: Taste
Metals: Mercury, Silver
Characteristics: Emotions, intuition, the unconscious mind, the womb, fertility, dreams (also associated with air), shamanistic journeys, healing, ebb and flow, purity, soothing, deep psychic work, renewal (spiritual), communication with spirit guides, the inner self, storms, death, mist, dew and fog.
Activities: Dream work, shamanic consciousness work, soul/self journeys, healing circles, self healing, love, vision quests.
