Today I turned 19. In Canada, that means that I am no longer bound by age restrictions for anything. Though my 18th birthday is when I technically became an adult, now I am fully legal to drink. No, I'm not about to go out and get shitfaced just because I can, but I can enjoy a couple of casual drinks with my friends who all had thier birthdays before me, and go dancing in clubs (which is more what I want to do, not drink).
Is today going to be a day of major philosophical reflection? Nah, it's just a birthday. The sun has returned to the same location of my birth. Today I will be subjected to familial ridicule.
In the long run, it's really not worth it.
